A White Baptism

This week was a pretty good week; we had the privilege of baptizing 2 people.  This week, I also really got a testimony of working with members, again.  Last week, we had the chance to bring tons of members to our lessons, and we continued that work, and it went very well.  We had a lesson with a member, who is the same age basically as one of our investigators, who is preparing to go on a mission soon. She taught well, and it was a lesson full of inspired questions.

During the entire time we've been teaching D, he was always like, "The Church is True!!!"   This week, family members were all against them.  Their family members  gave them a book made by their church that just talks badly about our church, and D came running in saying "It's a lie! It's a lie!”  The book was made to convince people that the Mormon church is a cult and doesn't even worship Jesus Christ.  It was pretty clear that the information was not true.  One of our investigators was given 6 answers from God during the time we taught her, and we set the baptism for Saturday.  On Saturday afternoon, we were so excited, then we were told that one of the siblings didn't wanna be baptized any more.

We testified that she had gotten various answers from God, and that if she ignored that, she's denying God and His power.  It was pretty tense when we left, since we didn't know if she'd actually come to the baptism or not.  But the Spirit gave us the words to say and I've learned to say even something that may be hard to hear when the Spirit speaks.  Long story short, members who we had baptized recently picked them up and brought them to the baptism.  When they showed up at the chapel, the Recent Convert was like "let's talk in a room with them really quick."  We went into a room, and they thought for like 25 minutes, praying and opened up the Bible, and it was super, super tense.  Then the deciding moment.  We asked her if she'd open up the present God had planned for her, she thought for literally a few minutes in silence, and then said, "Vou me batizar!" (I’ll be baptized!)   It was our privilege to see our recent convert baptize D!  And I baptized his sister.  What a blessing it will be in their lives and their family to have the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ.  They will be a force for good.

We also painted a house on Saturday morning, a mom of a missionary serving from the ward, who's not a member yet. We'll see if we can get anywhere with that too.

Anyways, I wish you guys the best! Oh, and my comp, will be transferred, and I stay in this area.  Transfer meeting tomorrow, not sure exactly what to expect, but we find out everything tomorrow! Excited! :)

Love and Abraços,
Elder Coon
